Antonio Harvey has had the opportunity to serve as a professional educator for over two decades, including 5 years as an elementary principal, 1 year as an assistant principal, 1 year as a resident principal, 6 years as a personal academic coach, and 15 years of successful classroom teaching experience. He was a participant of the New Leaders program where he received extensive training in leadership and teacher development. He incorporated this training to transform Hawkins Mill Elementary into a Level 5 school.
Currently, he is the community manager for Memphis Shelby County Schools, where he supports the development of programming and training for family engagement specialists. Additionally, he co-founded the advocacy group FathersFirst, which has a mission to cultivate nurturing and engaged fathers that will meaningfully enhance the well-being of their children and their families. He is a proud product of the City of Memphis and the local school system. He received his Bachelors in Elementary Education from the University of Memphis and obtained his Masters in Educational Administration from Tennessee State University. Recently, he completed his educational specialist degree at Walden University. Antonio is truly an advocate for the children of Memphis. He is passionate about providing opportunities for children that will change their life trajectory. He believes that this can be done through equity and by creating experiences in children’s lives that create positive outcomes. |
