With an exceptional 40-year career in education, Demetria Franklin has dedicated her life to nurturing the whole child and unlocking the potential within every learner. A veteran educator, she passionately believes that all children can learn when equipped with the right tools and support, regardless of their circumstances.

Demetria holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education, with additional specializations in English as a Second Language and Curriculum and Instruction. Her academic journey includes Delta State University and Mississippi Valley State, where she honed her skills and deepened her commitment to education.

As a tireless advocate for students, Demetria has worked collaboratively to ensure every child receives the attention and opportunities they deserve. Known as a dedicated team player, she has impacted countless lives through her unwavering belief in the power of education.

Though recently retired, Demetria’s passion for education continues. She plans to leverage her expertise to oversee and develop innovative programs for the Beyond Educating Foundation, ensuring its mission of empowering learners remains strong. A proud grandmother of three, Demetria brings warmth, wisdom, and a lifetime of experience to her role as a board member—making her a guiding force and a trusted voice within the organization.
